The Natural Baby Co. is one of the best when it comes to earth-friendly products for your wee ones. They have everything from reusable diapering items (LOVE their
Wonder Wraps covers!), to fabulous feeding products, to these awesome
Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces. My one-year-old is in serious need of one of these! I've never seen a baby suffer as much as she does when new teeth are coming in. : (

The Natural Baby Co.'s most renowned product, however, is it's Gro Baby diapering system. I use it, and I love it! It's my go-to diaper when we're going out of the house (which is often lately...think I need to add to my stash!). Being an innovative and forward-thinking company, The Natural Baby Co. knows that not everyone is up to the task of washing and drying (and washing and drying, and washing and drying...) diapers, so they recently launched the Gro Baby All Natural
Biodegradable Soaker Pads. They are a pad that goes inside the Gro Baby shell, that you dispose of after it's soiled. It's composed of a soft, non-woven fabric next to baby's skin, a wood pulp and limited-SAP gel core, and a waterproof, 100% natural biofilm outer. It sticks inside the shell with a gentle adhesive to prevent shifting.
This sounds like a wonderful solution for those who want to cloth diaper, but aren't quite ready to commit to all the laundry that comes with it. It also could be a great solution for parents who have little ones in daycare, as some daycare providers don't want to "do" cloth diapers. These would be no more work than changing a standard disposable. Personally, I'm excited to try these for outings! It would be FABULOUS to not have to carry around a wet/poopy diaper all day in my diaper bag! And think of how this would work on vacation! Just take enough shells to get you through, and some of these Bio Soakers, and you're set! Can you tell I'm excited to try them???
But now you're ready to ask me why these are any better than regular ol' disposables, right? Here's the
really cool thing...they're BIODEGRADABLE! You missed that in the name of the product, right? They break down in the landfill in 50-150 days, compared to 500 days for your run-of-the-mill diapers. You can also flush the core! Just tear it open and flush the insides, then throw the outer in the trash. You can also compost it!!! Flush any poop, then throw the soaker pad in your compost bin! Totally awesome!
The Natural Baby Co. has offered to send me some Bio Soakers for free for writing a post about it, and this is that post. If you hurry, maybe you can get in on it, too! Check out the
Gro Baby Facebook Fan Page for the rules! Can't wait to try out this awesome new product, and hope you will, too!
